Young Professionals Learn about Internet Club at Mega Mixer
On July 22, 2009, the United Way of Ventura County’s Young Leaders Society hosted a Mega Mixer at the Topa Tower Club in Oxnard, inviting members of young professionals’ groups from across Ventura County to participate. Kiwanis Club of Camarillo member Sandra Walker, who is the Director of Operations for the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, arranged for fellow Kiwanian and Internet Club committee chairperson Anne Zachry to speak to the group about Kiwanis membership through the Internet Club format.
The event was well attended and hosted in a lovely setting by the Topa Tower Club, overlooking Oxnard, Camarillo, and Ventura from the 21st floor of the Topa Tower in Oxnard. About 100 young professionals from across Ventura County networked with one another and heard presentations from representatives of the various young professionals’ groups in attendance, prominant business people, and representatives from non-profit groups seeking volunteers.
Anne and fellow Kiwanian Peter Johnson manned a table with information about Internet Club participation in the Kiwanis Club of Camarillo and answered questions from interested Mega Mixer participants about the club’s online membership option for busy professionals. This information was very well received and a number of event participants expressed serious interest in membership.
For more information about how you can give back to the community of Camarillo without compromising your other responsibilities, or if you would like us to come speak to your group about online membership in the Kiwanis Club of Camarillo, please email us at online@kiwanisclubofcamarillo.com.
