PostHeaderIcon Video from Internet Club Meeting at Squashed Grapes

Team Kiwanis, the division-wide leadership team overseen by 2008-09 Lt. Governor Wes Miller, partnered with the Internet Satellite group of the Kiwanis Club of Camarillo to welcome new prospective members and existing members with our first official social get-together.  Brief video footage is found here:

Our sincere thanks go out to the fine folks at Squashed Grapes who hosted our event. It was both enjoyable and enlightening to see how much everyone had in common and the potential among the group to make amazing things happen to the benefit of the community of Camarillo and beyond.

Among the different activities discussed were the Internet Satellite’s involvement in the upcoming Relay for Life Pancake Breakfast, Kiwanis Dolls, Kiwanis Doctors and Pediatric Trauma Prevention, the YMCA’s Annual Family Health Fair, the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce Mini-Expo in November, and next year’s Celtic Faire.  We also discussed upcoming 2009-10 Club President Don Medley’s intended push for corporate memberships where, for the price of a single person’s membership, a local company can join the club and send any of its employees to participate in club events.

Squashed Grapes’ owners indicated that corporate membership was being seriously considered for the establishment, as well as the employee’s participation in upcoming fundraisers and community service projects.  Squashed Grapes is a unique wine establishment that ships in the materials from all over the world so that patrons can make and bottle their own wine, create their own unique labels, and have their own unique bottles of wine to serve at their family or corporate events.  Squashed Grapes also assists patrons with custom brewed beers.  For more information, visit http://www.squashedgrapes.com.

The internet group’s next meeting will be via Skype conference on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 7pm.  If you are interested in participating, please email us your Skype ID or phone number at online@kiwanisclubofcamarillo.com.
