PostHeaderIcon Peanut Day 2010

For the Eighteenth consecutive year, the Kiwanis Club of Camarillo is holding its annual “Kiwanis Peanut Day” drive to raise funds for the youth of our community.  This year’s Peanut Day will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010.

This is a special day in Camarillo!  The City Council issues an “Official Proclamation” announcing it citywide.  On Peanut Day, you will see men, women, and teenagers distributing free bags of roasted Kiwanis peanuts to people walking in and out of businesses around town and accepting any donations passers-by are willing to make.

During the forty-four years that the Kiwanis Club of Camarillo has been in existence here in Camarillo, it has involved men and women who feel a need to better their community through volunteer service such as delivering meals to shut-ins, providing new infant car seats and bicycle helmets for needy families, outfitting boys for Boy Scout camping, providing children’s books and equipment to the Camarillo Library, furnishing a breakfast for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, and more.  In addition, we have given over $100,000 in college scholarships to graduating seniors from our local high schools.  We need your help to continue and broaden our community service activities in Camarillo.

Help out on Kiwanis Peanut Day and donate when you get your free peanuts!  The Kiwanis Club of Camarillo Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity, tax ID 61-1564767.  Your donations are tax deductible.

If you’re interested in performing community service with us, join us at Round Table Pizza on Arneill Road (by K-Mart) each Tuesday at noon or email us at online@kiwanisclubofcamarillo.com.
