Kiwanis Club Of Camarillo

The Kiwanis Club of Camarillo is diversifying the way that concerned citizens in Camarillo can participate in a community service organization.  In line with changes made by Kiwanis International, a global community service organization of which the Camarillo Club is a part, membership and participation have been expanded to accommodate the busy schedules of working adults and parents of school-aged children.

In the past, membership in a service club required attendance at regular meetings.  Attendance at regular meetings is still encouraged but is no longer required, particularly for those whose schedules conflict with the meeting times.  Service to the community is about more than attending meetings – it’s about doing the work that sees the needs of the community met. 

Kiwanis International recognized that serving the community could be accomplished in many different ways and that in-person meetings in this day and age are no longer imperative to the successful accomplishment of community service objectives.   When the purpose of the meeting is to coordinate volunteer participation in an upcoming event, this can often also be accomplished via email, telephone & Skype conferencing, and/or blogging.

If you are interested in participating in community service activities in Camarillo, please fill out our Volunteer/Member Interest Form.  Even if you’re not quite sure about whether you want to be a member of our Club or not, you’re encouraged to at least volunteer at one of our community service events to see just how wonderful it is to give to the community of Camarillo.  From there, you can decide if club membership is right for you.
